Azabache is a Spanish word used when describing the color of “jet black” so it’s no wonder that Peter Kahl coined this incredible new morph with that name when he proved it to be genetic in 2007. The Azabache is a mutation unlike any others in the boa world today. They are born looking similar to a normal boa but with an unusual amount of black flecking. Over the course of approximately twelve months this morph develops into a solid black boa with an incredible iridescence. To date this is the only known black Columbian boa mutation. It is one of the newest morphs on the scene and as a result it is extremely rare. We couldn’t be more excited to have it within our collection.
